PRANAKORN: Authentic Thai Food | PRICEY YET DELISH

Product Verdict: Naming the most authentic thai food in Singapore, LEGIT.

Pranakorn, an old name for Bangkok City, is a Thai Restaurant newly opened at Changi Village. The founder and head chef, Mdm Yongpeerakun Nuttikan (aka Kaopan) has a very superb skill on dishing up delicious and authentic Thai cuisine. Born and raised in Chonburi Province of Thailand, Mdm Kaopan is married to a Singaporean. It was her good cooking skills that her extended families in Singapore came together to start this Thai Restaurant. The vision of Pranakorn is to be a restaurant which provides a cosy Makan place with a home taste of authentic Thai food. It is to be the place for adults and children alike. Food served caters to the taste buds of the young and old. We ensure that no one will ever leave the Restaurant feeling anything less of the authentic Thai flavour!

One of the specialties is the Moo Daeng (minced pork). Every customer should try when first visit to Pranakorn. These Moo Daengs are specially handmade that one is not able to tell at first try that it is pork. They have such tender texture which make they taste like fish balls. The Moo Daeng (minced pork) can be found in our side and main dishes. Other than the authentic Thai food taste that Pranakorn offers to customers, we have specially designed the restaurant with the vintage Bangkok street concept which aims to give customers the feeling of eating in Bangkok city. The restaurant's interiors are also nicely set up with most of the items bought from Bangkok.

Since its opening in September 2014, Pranakorn has seen many returned customers who so loved our Thai food. Though our varieties are not like the other Thai restaurants, Pranakorn does have its special seasonal dishes to offer to our valuable customers. Dishes such as Stir-Fried Vermicelli, Pork Cutlet Curry Rice, Red Curry with Rice Noodle or Rice, Stir-Fried Clams etc.

When Singaporean talks about Thailand, they would never fail to say this: 'Damn cheap', as inexpensive and affordable. Typically, women will define it as shopping and men define it as alcohols and.. siam diu (A hokkien dialect known as thai disco/club) but both genders would share a common theory about Thailand, the food. Unfortunately, we are not in Thailand but we are about to share the most authentic thai food in Singapore. Changi Village was no stranger to Pokemon players back then where rare Pokemons could be found but as for myself, I knew about Changi Village before the Pokemon season and honestly I have dine at Pranakorn numerous countless times and I could reassure that their standards are well-preserved, given that the head-chef is the cook for the day. Yes, I have occurred times where the standards of my favourite dishes has barely any meat or dish may be more sour or spicier than before. Above-mentioned that I have visited the store numerous times, it could probably happened like 2/15 times, so don't worry about it.

Most of us didn't cared about the price because of their quality delish thai food never fail to disappoint us.

Generally, their store would get extremely crowded during dinner time. This was us, my work colleagues and me, having a feast at lunch time.

Their Thai Red Curry with Pork in Noodle or Rice is one of my favourite, no doubt it's their yummy sweet and spicy curry.

(Order Thai Red Curry with Pork in Noodle and Homemade Fried Pork Cake)

I would never ever fail to order this side dish, Homemade Fried Pork Cake with special dipping sauce. I want know to what kind of sorcery that have used to make it taste like fish cake and it's exceptionally heavenly!

Next up, Steamed Seabass w/ Chilli and Garlic Dressing

Oddly, you can't find this in their menu. You could show this photo to the cashier, and they will know. Their soup with the seabass is rather refreshing, I would definitely dip into the soup with every piece of fish I have before putting it into my mouth.

Their Omelette!

I couldn't stop staring at this photo! All egg lovers would fall in love with this omelette instantaneously and you couldn't stop yourself having it because it would give out that aromatic smell. It's fluffy thick, and cooked perfectly. Oh gosh, i feel like having this right now.

I have one more dish to recommend but I didn't not take a photo of it and that is their dessert, Grass Jelly Coated With Brown Sugar. (We would keep this post updated once I have a good photo of their dessert.)

I'm not a lover to milk-tea but I have my colleagues sharing with me that their thai milk tea were superb and they served green thai milk tea too! They would charge SGD $0.20 for plain water, either warm or cold. You may have noticed that most of their dish has chilli in it. Fret not, they have dishes that are kids friendly with no chilli involved. Over the weekend, you could consider bring your friends, families and colleagues along. However, their crowds during dinner time on weekends are scary. Their interior has a touch of thailand feel which makes the ambiance cozy and comfortable. Numbers of local celebrities have visited their store and usually it's the case where they drove to Changi Village to eat before heading to airport and the distance from airport is 15-20 mins drive. You could spend easily about SGD $10 - $20 per pax at Pranakorn.

Heading to Changi Village isn't convenient as they have no MRT station nearby (Closest would be the Pasir Ris MRT Station) and limited bus to Changi Village Hawker Centre.

(Their bus is from 'Opp Pasir Ris Town Pk' located close to White Sands Shopping Mall.)
